DermaSweep® Microdermabrasion

DermaSweep is the latest innovation in skin rejuvenation. DermaSweep’s Hydro-Assisted Dermabrasion gently lifts the skin surface as the device “sweeps away” the dead skin layer, resulting in a deeper exfoliation and polish of your skin. The skin is left smoother as the vacuum action of the wand stimulates blood flow and cleans the pores. The increased blood flow encourages collagen formation thus firming and toning your skin improving the overall skin health.

Absolutely! Khuu Dermatology's DermaSweep providers are trained and certified. Carefully following our treatment protocol, DermaSweep treatments are one of the safest, lowest-risk, age defying procedures available.

Why is DermaSweep better than other exfoliation and microdermabrasion treatments?
A revolutionary microdermabrasion system eliminates the messy and discomforting crystals often used by alternative systems to remove dead skin. Dermasweep features a closed system with a variable level vacuum pump that gently lifts the skin as our bristles “sweep away” the dead layer of skin in a precise and controlled manner. Bristles really matter! DermaSweep enables airflow through the bristles to allow the skin to be gently drawn into the bristle for a more effective and less irritating exfoliation. DermaSweep results is a clean, consistently effective treatment that patients/clients enjoy. Patients/clients see a noticeable skin improvement with fewer treatments and improved results even with the first treatment.

Is the treatment painful or come with side effects?
The treatment is painless. DermaSweep does not use aluminum oxide crystals that can remain embedded in the skin and cause irritation. The revolutionary, patent-pending bristle tip technology causes less irritation to the skin while at the same time allowing a more comfortable, aggressive and rejuvenating treatment. You may feel mild tightening or tingling after exfoliation but the skin will be quite smooth. The moisture of any topical treatment will leave your skin with a cool, refreshed feeling. An anti-oxidant enriched sunscreen is essential to use afterwards since the exfoliated skin has temporarily lost some of its natural protection to the environment. It is recommended to avoid sun exposure and tanning for a few days.

What will my skin look after treatment?
Your skin will be instantly smoother and you will notice a vibrant glow after the first treatment. Hyper-pigmentation, acne scars, fine lines, and stretch-marks will lessen gradually over a series of microdermabrasion treatments.

When will I see results?
Your skin will have a warm, pinkish glow that may last up to 30 minutes. Your post treatment care is simple and easy and will be explained by your aesthetician.

How long will the results last?
Lasting and more significant results will occur after 4 to 6 treatments spaced over 10 days to two weeks apart, supported by a daily post treatment routine. If you’re undergoing microdermabrasion in combination with laser skin rejuvenation (photorejuvenation or chemical peel), then the results will last much longer.

Will I miss work or need to stay indoors?
Answer: The DermaSweep treatment can be done during a normally scheduled office visit and in most cases you can return to your normal activities. However, it is advisable to avoid direct sun exposure for at least a few days after your treatment.

What will I do after the treatment?
A home skincare regime will be recommended to maintain the results of your treatment.

DermaSweep Microdermabrasion - 25 minutes

More and more patients are coming to the conclusion that not all chemical peels are created equal. You don't have to have a peel that causes you to peel for a week or longer to get healthier looking skin. The Obagi Blue Radiance Peel is a great option for someone wanting to improve their skin on the face or body without the down time of deeper peels.

Not to be confused with the renowned, total resurfacing Obagi Blue Peel that leaves you peeling for days and a slightly bluish tint. The Obagi Blue Radiance Peel is one of the newest treatments on the market to help lightly but effectively give the skin back its' youthful glow – reducing brown spots, fine lines, blemishes, and helping to improve texture within a matter of minutes. The Obagi Blue Radiance Peel works great in a series of treatments.

Q - What kind of acid does the Radiance Blue Peel contain?

Your provider is able to control the depth of the peel and the number of coats applied to tailor the process to your skin's specific needs. Q - How will my skin look after recovery from the Obagi Blue Radiance Peel?

When your skin has completely finished peeling, you will immediately notice the dramatic results of your newly improved complexion. Reduction in pore size, fine lines and wrinkles, and brown spots are just a few of the benefits of this chemical peel. Improvement of the skin will continue for up to 6 weeks post peel.

Q - What is the process of this in-office Obagi Blue Radiance Peel?

The great thing about the Obagi Blue Radiance Peel is that you can walk right into the office and have it done without prepping the skin long term. Although prepping is always suggested to receive optimal benefits, the Obagi Blue Radiance does not require prepping. Application of the Obagi Blue Radiance Peel takes about 20 minutes. A mild tingling sensation that lasts one to two minutes will be felt however we use fanning to minimize this sensation. Immediately after the procedure, extractions can be done if needed and you finish with appropriate sunscreen.

Q - How long is the recovery from the Obagi Blue Radiance Peel?

After the procedure you may experience slight pinkness to the skin that day and your skin will begin to peel within 2 to 3 days and usually lasts for 2-4 days. For patients that have been treating their skin with the Obagi Nu-Derm or Obagi CRX systems may not peel much but the skin will look brighter and healthier.

What is the difference between the Nu-Derm System and products purchased from department stores, drug stores, infomercials, etc?

The products in the Nu-Derm System are clinically proven, prescription-strength ingredients that work at the cellular level to improve your skin cell function. Products purchased from a retail store are cosmetic-based products that do not contain prescription-strength ingredients.

   

How often should I visit Khuu Dermatology when using the Nu-Derm System?

Can the Nu-Derm System be used during pregnancy?

No.

   

Can the Nu-Derm System be used if I will be in the sun (ie, at sporting events or at the beach)?

Keeping in mind that extended sun exposure damages the skin, it is suggested that you avoid prolonged sun exposure without protection. While on the system, you can participate in normal outdoor activity. However, your skin may be sensitive to the sun and heat. It is very important to always wear a sunscreen, like Healthy Skin Protection SPF 35, Sun Shield SPF 50, and/or Physical UV Block SPF 32 in the Nu-Derm System, and reapply sun protection every few hours while exposed to the sun.

Why should I use all the products in the Nu-Derm System?

Each product in the Nu-Derm System is specifically designed to work together to provide you with the best results. When used as a system, the prescription-strength ingredients work to effectively balance the pH level of your skin and penetrate into the layers of your skin for superior results. Your skin care professional will guide you in using the system based on his or her assessment of your needs.
